Wonderful, but of course that also means there is a lot to do in the garden. As a garden enthusiast, this is really no punishment, but you need to know what to do. What jobs are on the agenda in May and June? Here is what you can do about garden maintenance in the early summer.    <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Getting your garden ready for summer<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Winter is now really, really, really behind us. After Christmastide from May 11 to 14, there is no more chance of night frost, which means that the gardening season can really start now. Time to get your garden ready for summer with the following pre-summer garden maintenance:  <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are summer bloomers ready to be put in pots? If so, scrub your pots thoroughly before putting in the new plants. It is also smart to let earthenware pots fill up with water first.  <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plan a visit to the garden center to buy new plants for your garden.  <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tie up climbing plants, as they will now grow substantially. Also check regularly to see if everything is still secure or if there are new shoots that need to be tied back. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Taking care of the terrace<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are you also looking forward to spending time on your patio? Then now is the time to make sure you can actually enjoy your patio. Take care of your terrace with the following jobs:  <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get out the garden furniture. Of course clean it thoroughly and spring is also the time to stain the wooden garden furniture on a dry day. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Place a container of herbs on your patio. When you eat outside again, it will be great to use fresh herbs. If you put a small herb garden on your patio, you can even pick them from your armchair!  <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Place a bird bath on the patio. You will help the birds with it, but you will also get free entertainment on your patio. It&#8217;s great to see the birds splashing around in it.    <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make your garden come alive<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With garden maintenance in the pre-summer, of course you can&#8217;t forget the most fun chores. Planting and seeding! This is the time when a lot can go into the ground and you should definitely take advantage of it. For example:   <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sowing annual flowers and plants. With the nice spring weather, the seeds germinate at lightning speed and in no time you will have a beautiful sea of flowers in your garden. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plant summer-flowering bulbs. Dahlias and anemones are great for this. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Weeding. That too is part of the job and should be done regularly. Did you remove the weeds? Then put back a ground-covering plant, as this will give weeds less of a chance.   <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Something new in the garden<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you really want something different? Then pre-summer is also a good time to really get going. For example, if you want to redecorate your garden.
